Procedures

Thought this would be a great advertisement for implants. Can we use something like this?

Implants

It’s very normal for people to feel apprehensive about an unknown procedure, so I wanted to provide some information that may bring some ease to your mind. Dental implants are the strongest, most reliable, and most effective method we have for replacing teeth. While nearly all other types of dental restorations will most likely have to be replaced at least once over a lifetime, it is very rare for any additional treatment to be needed with implants and their associated implant crowns.

One of the most common questions is about pain and recovery. The implant placement procedure can comfortably be done simply with local anesthetic. You will feel some vibration and gentle pressure during the procedure, but no pain. There may be some mild soreness for a few days following the procedure, but our post-operative protocol is very effective in nearly every case in creating a smooth, easy recovery.

The implant typically needs to heal for around 3-4 months before we then bring you back for a digital scan to create your final implant crown. This is either cemented or screwed into the implant, and is made of high quality, high strength materials. Once this is done, no further treatment is needed beyond routine cleanings and home hygiene.

Veneers

There are few cosmetic treatments that are more life changing than dental veneers. Your smile is the most noticeable aspect of your appearance. Having a beautiful smile literally amplifies all of your natural beauty. One of the reasons I love working with dental veneers is because I am able to be there as each patient sees themselves for the first time after the procedure. Seeing the looks of amazement, sheer happiness, and often tears of joy is one of the most rewarding things for me.

I feel like I develop a special bond with each person that I journey through this process with. I study out their facial features, their skin tone, the function of their jaw, the shape and shade of their teeth, and talk extensively about what they hope to achieve. From there we work closely with the lab to create a mock up of exactly what we want the veneers to look like. We use intricate techniques to prepare the teeth in the most conservative and functional way for the veneers. Temporary veneers are then placed that are modeled after the mock up. This way the patient is able to “test drive” the teeth to make sure they love how they are shaped. We then review with the master ceramists at the lab each detail of how the porcelain should be shaded and constructed to create a natural, lifelike experience- absolutely no “chicklets” are done here. The veneers are tried in and the patient is able to view the final product in their mouth before they are ever cemented. Finally, we use the highest quality bonding techniques to bond the veneers, followed by adjustments to ensure a comfortable, functional bite.

The entire process is normally completed in two appointments that span over about two weeks. So, in two weeks time the patient is able to experience “instant braces”, “instant permanent whitening”, and a transformation that is beyond what they even hoped for. It’s an incredible exciting process.
